Mercedes has released a teaser image of the extensive facelift it has applied to the 2016 model year SL-Class ahead of the car’s official unveiling at the Los Angeles Motor Show later this month.
The current Mercedes-Benz SL is probably one of the most divisively styled models in the luxury carmaker’s line-up, and in its upcoming iteration it looks to borrow cues from the AMG GT.
Among the revisions are a restyled diamond grille, revised bumpers and a new set of LED-equipped headlamps.
Although the teaser doesn’t give any indication of what’s happened aft, few changes, bar a slight revision of the existing brakelamp array and a remolded bumper, are expected externally.
Changes to the cabin are likewise up for speculation, but it’s fair to expect some changes to the choice and quality of trimmings, some additional safety tech and an update to the infotainment system, which will likely adopt the tablet-like display screen and latest software and functionality.
Details regarding the engine line-up will only be revealed when the car makes its official debut at the Los Angeles Motor Show on November 17.
