The high performance BMW X5 M isn’t exactly a car that needs more power, or so we thought. German based tuning house, G-Power thought it would be best to spice the two-ton SUV up with some performance upgrades to unlock its true potential and make it a little sportier than before. The result is this, the G-Power X5 M.
The team behind this special X5 M are said to have 35 years of experience in the tuning industry and as a result are able to provide three stages of power outputs through various methods of tuning. These power outputs consist of 485 kW/750 N.m, 522 kW/905 N.m and 560 kW/980 N.m.
The 560 kW figure is achieved by inserting enhancements such as a Bi-Tonic ECU remap, supercharger, downpipes with catalysts and a titanium exhaust system. Handling also needs to be catered for on such a large vehicle, which is why an in-house GX5M-RS coilover suspension kit and 23-inch Hurricane RR forged wheels with low-profile 325/25 ZR23 tyres are also provided. Brakes are worryingly still standard.
All of the parts can be bought as a package or individual accessories. The effects that this has on the X5 M results in a 0-400 m sprint time of 11,5 seconds and a top speed of 300 km/h which puts in in supercar territory. The full package will set you back by €28 500 (R475 892).
