A tuned Ford Mustang. It’s not the sort of vehicle one would expect to find in the German police force’s fleet, is it? But Ford tuning specialist Wolf Racing has indeed customised this ‘Stang for the polizei.
It’s called the Wolf Wide 5,0 and, yes, it gains a smidgen more power than standard. To take care of handling, it’s been fitted with a set of Hankook tyres wrapped around 20-inch wheels, a coilover suspension kit, and a subtle body kit (as well as the German police livery).
The 5,0-litre V8 now makes 335 kW, which sees its 0-100 km/h acceleration time fall to a claimed 4,3 seconds and its top speed climb to 268 km/h.
However, German locals should not expect to be pulled over by the Mustang enforcer as it’s actually just an example of the police’s Tune It! Safe! campaign, which promotes road-legal modifications (previous models tuned under this banner include the Brabus A-Class and Abt Audi R8).
The Wolf Mustang will be attending various events around Germany for the next year in order to promote the campaign.
