It looks like the Chinese manufacturer may be looking at creating a new type of GWM P Series superbakkie which is rumoured to make its debut at the next Guangzhou Auto Show. The leaked sketch shows a low-slung Cannon with extended wheel arches and a number of aerodynamic panels.
As sourced by Auto Fun, the new project has been described as just a concept that aims to experiment with how performance-oriented a double-cab bakkie can be made to be. From the front, we see the GWM P Series superbakkie boast a set of large air intakes integrated in the front grille, together with a conclusive splitter arrangement on the lower bumper. The bonnet has also been raised with an extra panel.
At the side, the GWM P Series superbakkie boasts an extra-wide set of wheel arches that house a large set of alloy wheels with yellow brake callipers. This is accentuated by a set of side skirts and a lower roof line that stretches out into a spoiler. There are no clear images of the rear but we can notice a sportsbar that tucks in under the aforementioned spoiler and a more aggressive rear bumper.
