Harley-Davidson Middle East and Africa has announced some new models for the summer season and the upcoming 2016 model year. Here is a selection:
IRON 883 – The popular Iron 883 has been tweaked for 2016 with an extra dose of dark custom added. The straight-cut short pipes are now also finished in satin black and the front mudguard has been clipped. The seat now sports tuck-n-roll pleating. A matching pillion seat is available too, while bullet hole details in the belt guard and a ribbed air cleaner cover further adds to the upgrades.
A new eagle and shield decal on the tank replaces the straight Harley-Davidson lettering of the old model. Front and rear wheels now have nine spokes in place of 13, with front wheel size is 29-inch and the rear 16-inch. The punchy 883 Evolution engine is retained and delivers 71 N.m at 3 750 r/min. The combined cycle fuel consumption is 4,6 L/100 km. Colours offered are Black Denim, Charcoal Denim, Olive Gold and Hard Candy Custom Gold Flake.
FORTY-EIGHT – Another low-slung bruiser with its 1 200 Evo engine gives you 96 N.m at 3 500 r/min. The engine is blacked-out with polished rocker covers. Front and rear fenders are chopped and mirrors are mounted under-bar. Wheels are also nine spoke like the 883 and finished in gloss black with machined elements. The exhaust pipes are blacked out but the heat shields are chromed with slots revealing the dark pipes underneath. Paint options are Vivid Black, billet Silver, Velocity Red sunglow, Olive Gold and Hard Candy custom options are Cancun Blue flake or Gold Flake.
SOFTAIL SLIM – The big change here is that the Screaming Eagle 110B engine has been dropped into the frame. The engine is a 1,8-litre 45 degree V-twin with counterbalance shafts and delivers 145 N.m of torque. The military theme is taken to the next level with an olive gold denim paintwork option. The rest is retro themed with a gloss black headlamp ring, fork covers, levers and mirrors. The under/over shotgun exhausts are also finished in black. A pleated black, low slung solo seat looks the part as do the black wheel rims with steel laced spokes.
The new bikes are expected to arrive in October. Visit your nearest dealer for a look.
