The Haval H6S has been revealed as a coupe alternative to the recently launched third generation SUV range. The sporty coupe crossover will be made available with two petrol engine options and a less sporty design is expected to be revealed in due time.
Based on information sourced by Kolesa.ru, the Haval H6S badge is not new to the brand but this is the first time that it has been applied to a coupe crossover design. It’s also noted that the overall design of the new product has been inspired by sharks.
From the front, the Haval H6S boasts dramatic redesigns to the headlamps, air intakes and grille. The rear has been made to be just as dynamic with the roof and hatch-mounted spoiler and aggressive rear bumper with rectangular exhaust tailpipes. 19-inch alloy wheels round off the dynamic appearance.
Overall dimensions quote the Haval H6S to measure 4 727 mm long, 1 940 mm wide and 1 729 mm tall with a wheelbase of 2 738 mm. Within the cabin, many design elements from the existing H6 have been applied. Here you’ll find a digital instrument cluster display, large touchscreen infotainment system affixed to the top of the dashboard, a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, and a rotary dial transmission selector. Carbon fibre-look finishes applied to the door cards and dashboard and Alcantara-look seat upholstery further promotes the notion of a sporty product.
Powering the Haval H6S will be the brand’s turbocharged 2,0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with a mild-hybrid battery that has been quoted to produce 157 kW and 325 N.m of torque. A turbocharged 1,5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with two electric motors on the front and rear axle is also available as a hybrid option with a power output of 181 kW and 530 N.m. With this system, the brand claims a 0-100 km/h time of 7,5 seconds.
Local introduction for the Haval H6S has not yet been confirmed by the South African arm.
