Honda has revealed this concept to give its fans some insight into what the next generation Civic Type R will look like. As you can see from the images above, it draws a lot of inspiration from the current FK2 Type R.
The body is very muscular as it makes use of a notable aerokit including a rear wing that puts the current model’s one to shame. It also has a lot more air ducts than before. Smoked LED headlamps have been added to make it look more aggressive.
finely-grained brushed aluminium paint job with the red detailing is a welcome addition to the design as it continues the dark and intimidating theme. A close look will also reveal that this makes use of three centrally places exhaust tips, just like the Ferrari 458 and F40.
A large set of 20-inch alloy wheels have been slapped on to provide it with an intimidating stance, although it might be unlikely for these to make it onto the final product.
With the current Civic Type R only being on the market for just over a year, don’t expect this concept to gain a production model anytime soon. We’ll be keeping a careful eye out, nonetheless.
The official reveal for this concept has been confirmed for early next year, at which point Honda will most likely reveal its specs and performance figures.
