We’ve seen 3D printing technology come a long way since it became accessible to the public. And now, using this technology, Honda has created the Micro Commuter EV, billing it as a city commuter for the people.
It’s not too different from the Renault Twizy in terms of functionality, with a maximum power output of 11 kW and a top speed of around 70 km/h.
Honda says the Micro Commuter EV can travel up to 80 km before running out of juice. It can be fully recharged in seven hours via a two-phase plug point.
Using something Honda calls a Variable Design Platform, the Micro Commuter EV has space for just one person. Seeing that it was actually a joint development with Kabuki for use by Japanese confectionery maker, Toshimaya, the main function of this EV is to deliver goods in the city.
Honda has yet to confirm whether this new model will be accessible to the public consumer.
