Honda has released a teaser image of the all-new Accord, billing the tenth-generation model as the “most dramatically styled Accord ever”.
The new model will be revealed in full on July 14 in Detroit.
The teaser image suggests that the new Accord will take plenty of styling inspiration from the latest Civic.
The Japanese automaker also confirmed that the upcoming Accord would feature three powertrain options, including two new turbocharged engines paired with either a new Honda-developed ten-speed automatic transmission, a continuously variable transmission or a six-speed manual gearbox, as well as Honda’s new two-motor hybrid system.
The Accord, of course, is a vital product for Honda in the United States, with the sedan leading retail sales in the mid-size sedan segment for the past four years running.
In South Africa, though, it’s a different story, with the Accord (along with a plethora of other non-German mid-size sedans, such as the Kia Optima, Hyundai Sonata and Mazda6) having been quietly discontinued a while back. So, don’t expect to see this model heading to our shores…
