Reporting positive sales in a declining market, Suzuki placed highly in the passenger sales segment with a total of 4 216 units sold during October. The Japanese automaker has its firm favourites and the newly released Fronx has been part of this success, but how much has it actually contributed to the bottom line for the month? Have a look below.
Suzuki best sellers in October
- Swift – 1 248
- S-Presso – 536
- Ertiga – 498
- Baleno – 490
- Fronx – 415
The Fronx is still fresh to the local market and has leapfrogged several other Suzuki products to claim a position in their monthly top 5. The Swift remains at the top of the sales charts by a convincing margin, with more than double the number of units sold than the second-placed S-Presso. Both compact and frugal hatches retain Suzuki’s product offering of value-for-money motoring. Further down the list and bolstering sales for the Japanese brand is the seven-seater Ertiga which pips the Baleno hatchback by 8 units.

The Baleno-based Fronx places fifth on the list for October, earning 415 sales throughout the month but its positioning could possibly be attributed to limited stock available to Suzuki Auto South Africa for the time being. A few weeks ago, we approached SASA regarding the supply issues of the Fronx in the country and this was their response to dealing with the shortage:
“Fronx has been an absolute hit in all markets where it is sold, with back order/waiting lists in numerous (most) countries. The factory is working hard to keep up and trying to expand the production to accommodate the demand. We have made our requirements clear, to try and secure as much stock as possible and keep the waiting list as short as possible.”

Starting from R279 900 for the 1,5 GL 5MT and priced all the way up to R335 900 for the 1,5 GLX 4 AT, we expect that the Fronx will be able to claim a podium position should supply shortages ease up.
