We’ve found pricing for the new Maserati Levante luxury SUV, which is set to arrive in local dealers soon. And, interestingly, it seems that just one derivative will be on available in South Africa … well, initially, at least.
Yes, according to our sources, the unimaginatively named Maserati Levante Diesel will be priced at R1 650 000.
Internationally, the 3,0-litre diesel V6 can be had in two outputs: 184 kW and 202 kW. As we understand it, South Africa will receive the latter, which makes its peak torque figure of 600 N.m between 2 000 and 2 600 r/min.
According to Maserati, this all-wheel drive oil-burner can hit 100 km/h from standstill in 6,9 seconds, before topping out at a claimed 230 km/h.
A twin-turbo V6 petrol, also displacing 3,0 litres, is on offer in certain other markets, again in two outputs: 257 kW and 316 kW. Here’s hoping these higher-performance variants follow the diesel to South Africa in the near future…
