Think the Mercedes-AMG A45 S could do with even more oomph? Well, Brabus has released a tuning package for Affalterbach’s smallest performance car.

With the German tuner’s so-called “B45-450” performance upgrade fitted, the turbocharged 2,0-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine’s peak outputs rise from the stock 310 kW and 500 N.m to 331 kW and 550 N.m.

The result, says Brabus, is a sprint from zero to 100 km/h in just 3,7 seconds, shaving two-tenths of a second off AMG’s claimed time. Top speed for the all-paw hot hatch remains an electronically limited 270 km/h.

The company says the tune comprises “more than just special mapping” for the engine management system. Indeed, the conversion includes a Brabus PowerXtra CPC auxiliary control unit, the Brabus BoostXtra adapter (which results in a “sporty blow-off noise”) and a special duct for the air box.

While the bodywork is untouched, the tuner has added “tailor-made” Monoblock Z 8,5Jx20 wheels, complete with a ten-spoke design and black polished finish. Brabus opted to wrap these wheels in 255/40 ZR20 rubber supplied by Continental. In addition to the wider tyres, Brabus has also fitted height-adjustable sports springs that allow the ride height to be lowered by as much as 30 mm.

Furthermore, the tuner says it offers a range of options for the cabin, from illuminated stainless-steel scuff plates (complete with the Brabus logo) to alloy pedals, branded velour floor mats and fine leather upholstery.
