The Hyundai Grandeur Heritage Series has been revealed as a tribute to the brand’s historic premier luxury sedan. The restomod takes the classic shape of the old model and adds a number of futuristic modern touches.
The Hyundai Grandeur Heritage Series, of which the original model was based on the Mitsubishi Debonair, brings the chassis into the modern world with a set of pixel LED head- and taillamps implemented into the original clusters. A mesh chrome grille, flattened wheel covers and a collage of chrome trimmings helps the unapologetically 80s sedan retain its classical flair.
The highlights of the Hyundai Grandeur Heritage Series can be found within the cabin where a widescreen digital display with an integrated sound bars and portrait control panel has been fitted. This unit is connected to an 18-speaker sound system that has been programmed to deliver “acoustic theory similar to that of a concert hall”.
The upholstery found within the Hyundai Grandeur Heritage Series has been finished with a mix of bright burgundy Alcantara and Nappa leather. This is contrasted by silver metal and gloss black trimmings. Hidden details include a watch storage slot, a throttle style gear selector, “infinity mirror” roof lamps and a virtual piano feature developed with instrument brand Samick.
The Hyundai Grandeur Heritage Series concept was unveiled at the Hyundai Motorstudio Goyang center in Seoul, South Korea and will be on display later this month. Hyundai is also set to reveal the next entry in its heritage series, a retromod Galloper which is the brand’s first SUV also based on the underpinnings of a Mitsubishi.
