The Hyundai Santa Fe XRT edition has been added to the SUV’s catalogue in the North American market. The unique pack includes a number of trimmings that help the South Korean product look more at home in the mountain setting but no additional off-roading tech is included.
With the Hyundai Santa Fe XRT pack, a front and rear black lower bumper fascia molding is applied along with dark silver front and rear skid plates, XRT-exclusive black door side moldings, side steps and a set of 18-inch dark alloy wheels. This is enhanced by a matte-black grille as well as black mirror covers, roof side rails and cross rails.
The updated Hyundai Santa Fe was unveiled last year and introduced into our local market earlier this year with an Executive and Elite trim being made available. Both models use the firm’s turbodiesel 2,2-litre four-cylinder engine delivering 148 kW and 440 N.m of torque to either the front or all wheels depending on your specification level.
While not a thorough 4×4, the Santa Fe does come fitted with a conclusive traction control system that can be suited for snow, mud and sand.
Hyundai Santa Fe XRT kit is a North American option which means it’s unlikely that we will have access to it but options on the local model include a tow bar with rear styling bar, nudge bark, integrated side step, roof rack wing bar, a 400 dm3 roof box and a two bike carrier.
For the XRT accessories to be applied to the Hyundai Santa Fe, the North American arm of the South Korean manufacturer is asking $32 300 (approximately R466 000) for the front-wheel drive and $34 000 (approximately R490 000) for the all-wheel drive. Included at this price is a convenience package which adds a hands-free automatic tailgate, dual-zone climate control, a leather wrapped steering wheel, the 12,3-inch digital display and puddle lamps.
