The all-new Isuzu MU-X has landed in South Africa, claiming to bring with it bold new styling, a larger and quieter cabin, luxurious materials and next generation driver assistance and safety features.
Kicking the range off is the Isuzu MU-X LS at R693 800 for the 4×2 and R771 600 for the 4×4. Included in this package is cruise control, six airbags, auto-on LED headlamps, DRLs and foglamps, rain sensing wipers, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, manual air conditioner with vents for the rear cabin, rear parking sensors with a camera, front and rear USB charging ports and a 7,0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connected to six speakers.
The Isuzu MU-X LSE is available in 4×2 only with a price tag of R763 300. This adds a tyre pressure monitoring system, front parking sensors, blind spot monitor, rear cross traffic alert, a rear radar, keyless entry with a walk-away auto door lock, an eight-way driver and four-way passenger electrically adjustable seat, leather upholstery for the seats, a leather gear knob, climate control, rear privacy windows and a 9,0-inch touchscreen with eight speakers.
The flagship of the range is the Isuzu MU-X Onyx 4×4 at R860 500. This adds autonomous braking with multi collision brake, adaptive cruise control, a far side airbag, improved side pole airbag, a front facing camera, front collision warning, pedestrian mitigation, a manual speed limiter, lane departure warning and keep assist and a driver monitor and a 220v power socket for the cabin.
All Isuzu MU-X models are powered by the brand’s turbodiesel 3,0-litre four-cylinder engine which produces 140 kW and 450 N.m of torque via a six-speed automatic transmission. Each model is also sold with a five-year/120 000 km warranty with roadside assistance, a five-year/unlimited km anti-corrosion warranty and five-year/90 000 km service plan.
