Jaguar’s released new images of the F-Pace undergoing extreme weather testing in the heat of the Dubai desert and the snow of Northern Sweden before the model is unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
Not only did the Jaguar F-Pace endure -40 degree and +50 degree (celcius) temperature, but, as it’s the first crossover/SUV in the company’s 90 year history, the newcomer also had to undergo gravel road testing – also a first for the Coventry-based firm.
“We developed the F-Pace to offer the ride, handling and refinement demanded from a Jaguar, together with exceptional levels of ability and composure on all surfaces and in all weathers. Just as we paid obsessive attention to detail over the engineering of every single component, we’ve exhaustively tested the F-Pace in the most challenging conditions to ensure that it will exceed the expectations of our customers around the world,” said Andrew Whyman, F-Pace vehicle programme director.
While there is some speculation that the supercharged 3,0-litre V6 that features across the Jaguar Land Rover product line-up could be fitted in the F-Pace, the main focus will be the new range of four-cylinder motors that’s already been launched with the XE sedan.
The F-Pace will make its international debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, and hit showrooms abroad in 2016.
