A new chapter in Jeep’s Compass story is about to begin and the Stellantis subsidiary has shared what the next-generation model’s silhouette looks like.

Catering to the massive subcompact SUV crossover craze of the early 2000s, Jeep took several years to get the 2002 concept into a viable market product with the arrival of the Compass in 2006. In this time, there have only been two evolutions with the second-generation making its debut in 2016 in Brazil. This generation saw the SUV positioned between the Renegade and larger Cherokee.

In the past few days, the American automotive brand has unveiled what the next-generation model will look like, or at least what its silhouette will be. Touted to continue contending the four-wheel-drive mainstream compact SUV recipe, it will be built on Stellantis’ highly flexible STLA Medium platform which will be able to cater to electric, hybrid and pure ICE configurations of propulsion.

Jeep further adds that this will ‘bring customers affordable Jeep capability, best-in-class performance and state-of-the-art technology no matter which powertrain they choose.’ The brand’s most globally available model, the new Jeep Compass will debut in Europe with production beginning in Melfi, Italy in 2025 before expanding production to North America and around the world in 2026.

At the moment, the current local Jeep lineup has omitted the Compass and only has the Wrangler, Grand Cherokee and Gladiator one offer with prices upwards of R1 million. The arrival of the all-new Compass will expectedly make Jeep ownership more affordable and accessible for buyers wanting the versatility of a Jeep, with the utility of a normal SUV.
