The 2022 edition of the JMC Yuhu 7 bakkie has been revealed at this year’s Chengdu motor show with a number of modern touches and a powerplant sourced from Ford. The Yuhu 7 is a more upmarket product that is positioned just above the Vigus in international markets.
Based on information sourced by Min News, at the helm of the JMC Yuhu 7 sits Ford’s turbopetrol 2,0-litre four-cylinder GTDi engine that pushes 162 kW and 350 N.m of torque to a Borg Warner four-wheel drive system via an automatic transmission. This gives the Chinese bakkie a maximum load capacity of 1,2 tonnes.
Notable styling changes to the JMC Yuhu 7 include a drastically redesigned front-end which now boasts a pair of LED headlamps and a large chrome grille. Furthermore, a new black lower guard and gloss black alloy wheels with orange detailing has been applied to create a more premium and robust look. The bed benefits from a sports bar and anchors for added versatility.
Within the cabin of the JMC Yuhu 7, a number of modern touches have been installed. This includes a 10,1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with voice control, navigation, audio-visual entertainment, and smartphone App expansions. For the sake of improved visibility, the upper and lower viewing angles have been adjusted.
Further additions to the cabin include an LCD TFT display within the instrument cluster, a pistol grip gear selector, two-spoke multifunction steering wheel, one USB port and faux-leather upholstery for the seats.
It’s not yet confirmed whether the Yuhu 7 will be introduced to our local market by JMC South Africa.
