While it may look like a rather tough and capable double-cab bakkie, the new Kandi K32 is in fact an affordable solution to consumers who are looking for something that can work hard. The Chinese-sourced product places emphasis on functionality rather than daily usability.
Sporting either a 20,7 or 50 kWh Lithium battery pack, the Kandi K32 only boasts a power output of 21 kW and a top speed of close to 105 km/h. The smaller battery option can cover a range of 97 km while the larger one will carry drivers for just over 240 km.
The Kandi K32 measures 5 435 mm long, 1 869 mm wide and 2 082 mm tall with a wheelbase of 3 099 mm. Claimed kerb mass for the eco-friendly workhorse comes in at 1 855 kg with a gross vehicle mass figure of 2 430 kg. Both the front and rear axle sport a pair of 265/65 R17 tyres.
While the powertrain is modest, the Kandi K32 comes with a respectable amount safety and comfort features. As part of the standard offering, a battery protection and anti-theft system, speed sensing door locks, ABS and EBD, speed warning, a rear-facing camera, two airbags and a 10,0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth functionality.
