Two teaser images of the upcoming Kia Niro Hybrid crossover have been released. Some technical details have also been made available. The crossover will be powered by a four-cylinder, 1,6-litre naturally-aspirated engine developing 77 kW and 147 N.m together with an electric motor. The electric motor will be powered by a 1,56 kW/h battery, while the drivetrain will be connected to a six-speed dual-clutch transmission.
If these design sketches is anything to go by, the Niro has a sleeker profile compared to the usual profile we’ve become accustomed to in terms of crossovers. However, we will have to wait until the production car is revealed to see the exact dimensions of the car.
Should the Niro head to South Africa, we would expect it to be launched locally towards the end of 2016.
