The Kia Sportage 1,6 T-GDi AWD GT-Line has been unveiled as a new flagship offering for the local range. The range-topper brings in a more powerful petrol engine, new transmission and a number of standard features.
At R649 995, the Kia Sportage GT-Line sports the South Korean brand’s turbopetrol 1,6-litre four-cylinder engine which produces 130 kW and 265 N.m of torque from 1 500 – 4 500 r/min. Power is delivered to an intelligent all-wheel drive system via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. This translates to a 0-100 km/h time of 9,1 seconds and a top speed of 201 km/h.
Fitted as standard to this model is six airbags, front and rear park assist with a rear facing camera and electronic stability, downhill brake and hill-start assist control. Further comfort and convenience is provided via keyless entry with a push-start button, electrically adjustable front seats, heating for both rows of seats, a powered tailgate and dual-zone climate control. Entertainment in the cabin is provided by an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Exterior inclusions consist of LED headlamps, a panoramic sunroof and 19-inch alloy wheels.
Additional equipment includes a two-tone, diamond-patterned and perforated artificial leather trim on the seats, a glossy finish on the centre console, a GT-Line-specific flat-bottomed steering wheel, and a comprehensive 4,2-inch colour instrumentation cluster.
As standard, the Kia Sportage 1,6 T-GDi AWD GT-Line comes with a five-year/unlimited km warranty and roadside assistance as well as a five-year/90 000 km service plan.
