It seems McLaren is on a roll, and there’s no slowing down its model onslaught. Although the company has not officially released details of its latest creation, dubbed the MSO HS, a well-known client and a few enthusiasts have snapped some pics, followed by the leak of what seem to be official press photographs.
Based on the 675 LT, the MSO HS offers a few more horsepower, but more importantly it is said to as much as 40 kg lighter. From our driving experience of the the 675 LT (coupe and Spider), McLaren must have pulled out all the stops to shave this much from the 675 LT’s figure, as it is already a stripped-out road car.
The MSO HS also uses a P1 GTR-derived active rear wing and a roof scoop to channel more air into the engine bay.
According to Autocar, 25 units have been built by the McLaren Special Operations (MSO) department and, you’ve guessed it, they’re all for a single client. Sadly the car won’t go into production, but it is safe to say that McLaren will definitely take some of the features of this car and implement them on future models.
