Lexus South Africa has expanded its flagship, LX model range with the introduction of the LX 700h Urban derivative. See Pricing below.
Lexus South Africa has introduced the Urban grade to the LX 700h, which replaces the LX 600 VIP variant. The Urban is positioned between the LX 700h F Sport and LX 700h Overtrail models.
The LX 700h Urban is packaged as a more luxury-focused seven-seater alternative to the adventure-ready, though still opulent, LX 700h Overtrail. The Urban model features a centre differential lock, while the Overtrail features centre, front and rear locking differentials. The Urban receives a set of 22-inch alloy wheels, shod in 265/50-size tyres, as opposed to the Overtrail’s 18-inch wheels.
The Urban is distinguished by chrome and stainless steel finishes, colour-coded wing mirrors and Shimamoku wood interior trim. The LX 700h Urban will be available in a variety of exterior finishes: White Quartz, Sonic Titanium and Manganese Luster, while Terrane Khaki and Graphite Black will only be available by customer order.

Included in the price are a seven-year/100 000 km warranty, maintenance plan spanning the same duration and distance, and an eight-year/195 000 km hybrid battery warranty.
As a reminder, the LX 700h models are powered by the Japanese automaker’s 1MT-HEV hybrid powertrain, which pairs an electric motor, fed by a 1.9 kWh lithium-ion battery, with a 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged V6 petrol internal combustion engine (ICE) – the former and latter producing 36 kW/250 N.m and 305 kW/650 N.m, respectively. The combined power output is 341 kW.
