Lexus South Africa has announced a raft of specification upgrades for its IS, NX, RC and LS models.

In the IS line-up, the hybrid IS300 EX and IS350 F Sport variants now ship standard with a Mark Levinson 15-speaker sound system, along with a rear sunshade. The F Sport derivative furthermore gains updated LED headlamps with an adaptive high-beam function, while a new “Manganese Luster” exterior colour has been added to the mix.

In the NX crossover range, the F Sport and SE hybrid derivatives gain “sequential” functions for the head- and taillamps, along with a new LED adaptive high-beam system. Both models also benefit from the Lexus Safety System, which includes a pre-crash system, lane-trace assist and a blind-spot monitor with rear cross traffic alert.

In addition, the SE hybrid scores headlamp cleaners, automatic headlamp levelling, a powered bootlid and auto-retractable side mirrors. Inside, the SE hybrid furthermore gains wood dashboard inserts, a panoramic sunroof, 60:40 power-adjustable second-row seats, full leather trim and a memory function for the driver’s seat.

All models in the NX range gain a new infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The RC F Sport coupé, meanwhile, now features an electronic parking brake and a 17-speaker Mark Levinson sound system, along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Finally, the flagship LS sedan’s adaptive cruise control system now works at all speeds (rather than just higher cruising speeds), while the colour palette has been “rationalised”, with “Terrane Khaki” and “Amber” no longer available for order on the LS500, and “Amber” discontinued on the LS500 F Sport.

In addition, Lexus SA says the LS500’s lane-keep assist feature has been “improved” and now includes a steering vibration function and lane-trace assist.
