The Toyota Land Cruiser 300 is by no means a small car but digital artists have stretched-out its wheelbase, regardless. This comes after a number of media outlets noted that the rear compartment of the Japanese SUV was a bit tighter compared to its rivals.
As penned by Kolesa, the long-wheelbase Toyota Land Cruiser 300 has been lengthened to fall in-line with American SUVs such as the Chevrolet Suburban, Cadillac Escalade ESV, Ford Expedition MAX and Lincoln Navigator L. With the idea of adding more space to the cabin, both the wheelbase and rear overhang have been elongated.
In doing so, the designer aims to translate a second row of seats that is more spacious and benefits from a wider doorway for easier entry to the third row. With this, an increase in boot capacity is also possible. A notable design difference can be seen with the C-pillar which boasts a modified shape to accommodate the rear side windows. Furthermore, the LED taillamp has been adjusted to boast a continuous strip that runs along the tailgate to connect the two clusters, as seen on the Toyota Mirai.
In its current state, the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 measures 4 950 mm long, 1 980 mm wide and 1 945 mm tall with a wheelbase of 2 850 mm and ground clearance of 245 mm. With the third row of seats folded, it offers 1 967 litres of boot space.
