Mahindra has launched its compact SUV on the South African market. This SUV (3 675 mm (L), 1 715 mm (W), 1 635 mm (H) defines a new “sub-segment targeting a new customer profile” according to Mahindra.
The KUV100 offers a ground clearance of 170 mm, while both petrol and diesel engines are offered.
The 1,2-litre, three-cylinder engine delivers 61 kW at 5 500 r/min and 115 N.m between 3 500 and 3 600 r/min.
The 1,2-litre, three-cylinder turbodiesel develops 57 kW at 3 750 r/min and 190 N.m between 1 750 and 2 250 r/min. Torque is send to the front wheels in both cases via a five-speed manual gearbox.
The independent front suspension layout consists of MacPherson struts, coil springs and dampers, while the rear is equipped with a torsion beam, coil springs and dampers.
Fuel consumption is claimed to be 4,4 litres per 100 km for the diesel unit and 5,9 litres per 100 km for the petrol model.
The KUV100 comes equipped with ABS brakes with EBD (electronic brake force distribution), corner brake control (CBC) and dual front airbags.

These prices include a three-years/100 000 km warranty as well as a three-years/50 000 km service plan for the K6+ and K8, and optional for the K4+.
