The stately German SUV has now been given some Mansory treatment and their endeavours have yielded 603 kW and plenty of carbon. This is the Mansory Mercedes-Maybach GLS.
German tuner Mansory are renowned for their high end modifications of Ferrari, Porsche and Lamborghini models but their portfolio is quite conclusive with most of the tri-star emblemed examples from Stuttgart and their Maybach ultra-luxury division too.
The latest Mansory Mercedes-Maybach example shown here in black is slightly more understated than the turquoise Bentley Bentayga or bright yellow and black Lamborghini Urus. Like the aforementioned SUVs, the latest Mansory creation not only has fettled exterior bits but a significant bump up in power too.
Under the bonnet, a modified ECU with new turbochargers and a sports exhaust system enable the Mansory Mercedes-Maybach GLS to push out 303 kW and 980 N.m. This means the commodious land yacht can hit 100 km/h from standstill in 4,4 seconds and continue onto its top speed of 300 km/h.
Things have been turned up on the outside too, with a new front apron that has an integrated lip and LED daytime running lights changing the ominous looking fascia. The grille can be left standard or if a customer requires or finished in a dark or carbon tint. New side skirts line the space between the unique 24-inch wheels while the rear boasts a new diffuser and a slightly tweaked bumper.
Another Mansory upgrade is the nudge bars to the GLS which can be found mounted to the front and rear bumpers although we think this makes the luxury SUV lose its refined character.
The interior includes a full leather finished with 3D embossing. The steering wheel can also be specced as a leather-carbon steering wheel with other carbon inlays found along the interior.
The R3+ million price tag on the standard Mercedes-Maybach GLS would likely mean that Mansory demands a pretty penny for the work to the stately SUV.
