German tuner Mansory has further updated its unique take on the Mercedes-AMG GT S, adding a massive wing to a one-off car built for a well-heeled customer.
Created for an individual known only as “Bandar”, the Mansory-fettled GT S – which employs the wide bodywork package unveiled in Geneva earlier this year – gains that huge rear spoiler and an integrated diffuser. In addition, Mansory says it used a “special process” to paint all visible carbon-fibre parts in ruby red. Each to their own, we guess.
Naturally, the engine has also been uprated to meet the customer’s desires: there are larger turbochargers as well as a sport exhaust system fashioned from stainless steel.
These new parts combine with a sports air filter to allow the 4,0-litre turbocharged V8 (complete with a new mapping system for the ECU) to churn out a whopping 537 kW – a significant boost over the standard 375 kW output.
As a result, the two-seater rockets from zero to 100 km/h in just 3,4 seconds (an improvement of four tenths), before topping out at 330 km/h (up from the stock 310 km/h). Huge wing notwithstanding.
Mansory’s Mercedes-AMG GT S also gains lightweight 21-inch wheels and a lowered suspension.
Inside, there’s plenty of leather and carbon, with the updated model featuring a sports steering wheel with a carbon inlay, as well as the obligatory aluminium pedals.
