For those who think that their track-only Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport is a tad too heavy, the engineers and Manthey-Racing have come up with a solution to shave 40 kg off the standard GT4 Clubsport’s overall weight of 1 300 kg. This is the Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR and it was revealed at the 24 Hours of Spa.
Manthey-Racing were able to do this by replacing the doors and hood with a lighter carbon fibre variant as well as fitting a polycarbonate windscreen and a lighter battery. The GT4 Clubsport MR also makes use of a two-way adjustable race suspension kit with linear bearings and an adjustable sway bar with blade adjustment to make the racer more agile around the corners. The rear wing has also been increased in size with extended wing brackets.
At the moment it is looking as if the Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR expansion is a US exclusive, eligible for both Pirelli World Challenge GTS class competition and in IMSA’s Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge GS class.
