With Mazda having focused on its SkyActiv program for the past few years it has been a while since fans saw a purely performance based model. As of late we have seen some news regarding a new rotary edition in the form of the RX-Vision, but now the Japanese manufacturer has confirmed that it will showcase more than a few track focused racing concept models at this years Tokyo Auto Salon.
The Mazda CX-3 Racing Concept has been given a more aggressive bodykit with a black finish and subtle red accents. New multi-spoke alloy wheels also enhance this track focused appearance. The CX-3 Racing also sits lower to the ground than the standard model and sports the dual exhaust tips with a larger roof-mounted spoiler.
The Mazda6 Racing Concept has also been given an all-black appearance with some aerodynamic enhancements, sportier wheels and a lower and stiffer suspension setup.
The Mazda2 15MB Racing Spec is a completely track focused hatch and receives a stripped-out interior cabin to relieve it of unnecessary weight with the addition of bucket seats with a Takata racing harness and a roll cage. The exterior has a white paintjob with a light manufacturer livery.
The MX-5 also undergoes some enhancements as seen in the RS Racing Concept which closely aligns to the CX-3 Racing Concept’s theme.
Expect to hear more about these four models when they go on display at this year’s Tokyo Auto Salon on the 15th of January 2016.
