This isn’t a standard Mercedes Vito. Far from it in fact, since German tuning company Vansports has transformed the family hauler into a campervan. This is the Geotrek Edition Vito 4×4 and it is the solution for people wanting to adventure into the unknown.
The unambiguous Mercedes Vito flies under the radar pretty well, it isn’t as cool as some AMG powered behemoths within Mercedes portfolio nor is it as luxurious as the V Class which is on sale in our market. This Vito starts its life out as a cargo van, intended for more utilitarian use but Vansports has modified their diesel 4×4 for campervan life.
What has emerged is the Geotrek Edition and it comes with some mechanical components that aid in its abilities off of the beaten path. This includes a new set of springs and off-road shock absorbers that connect to 18-inch wheels finished in either matte bronze or matte black. Wrapping them up are a set of knobbly General Grabber 235/55 all-terrain tyres that dispatch the 140 kW and 440 N.m from the 2,1-litre twin-turbocharged diesel motor to all four corners via a seven-speed automatic gearbox.
The remainder of the exterior has been given treatment to ensure it is as rugged as the terrain it may traverse through since Vansports has equipped the Geotrek Edition with front and rear underride guard panels that keep all mechanical bits safe from the terrain beneath it. Cosmetically, the campervan includes its standard black plastic trim and a rock slider on its sides while a vinyl design with the Vansports logo and contour lines alluding the adventure appeal.

No images of the interior have been provided but we can see that the Geotrek Edition has been equipped with a lifting roof and fully equipped living area which touts “a comfortable and pleasant camping experience all-year-round.” This includes an outdoor shower, sink, large battery, compressor cool box and stationary heating.
