The Paris Motor Show takes place this September at which Mitsubishi plans to reveal this; the Ground Tourer Concept as a follow up to the XR PHEV and eX while making use of its Dynamic Shield design philosophy. The teaser image shows that it is clearly a crossover as it makes use of a flat roof-line with sharp design lines.
Some might say it looks like a Range Rover Evoque mixed with a Toyota Fortuner but a close look at the image tells us that the concept lacks conventional door handles and mirrors (which are replaced with cameras). Other futuristic cues that can’t be seen but probably assumed are oversized wheels, a minimalist interior with a huge touchscreen infotainment system and an EV/hybrid powertrain.
Even when the concept is revealed this September it is unlikely that the Ground Tourer will make it to the production line. Mitsubishi are famous for making concepts that have no production value and this may be just another example of that. Having said that, it may just be laying the groundwork for the new Outlander that is rumoured to be revealed in the next few years.
