Mitsubishi teases new all-purpose 4WD SUV

By: CAR magazine

Mitsubishi will be adding to its PHEV crossover line-up with a new concept car set to be revealed at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show. The new model will display some of the innovations that the Japanese brand plans to implement in future road-going products, with a heavy focus on electrified all-wheel drive technologies.

Taking the form of a plug-in hybrid crossover, Mitsubishi promises a product experience that “delivers unparalleled driving pleasure and confidence over all terrain in light and wind”. This concept will feature a downsized PHEV drivetrain and an electrified all-wheel drive system.

The small crossover will be designed to fit comfortably in urban environments and travel all the way to the rough terrains of nature.

As for the teaser image, the four rings placed alongside the rear window are a real mystery. These could either be rear air vents or even a set of speakers. In the centre sits something that could form part of the crossover’s EV system. All questions will be answered when this concept is revealed at the end of October.
