Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa has released details of the top of range Ranger, the Wildtrak. Set to be launched together with the rest of the range before the end of the year, the new Wildtrak features several new technologies in the range.
The Wildtrak will offer Ford’s SYNC 2 infotainment system (connected to the 8-inch touchscreen), lane keeping aid, adaptive cruise control, forward collision alert and a driver impairment monitor.
There will also be an electronically controlled transfer case while Ford claims a wading depth of 800 mm and a ground clearance of 230 mm.
Under the engine lid will be the latest generation 3,2-litre, five-cylinder turbodiesel engine. However, it still produces 147 kW and 470 N.m, but Ford promises a reduction of fuel consumption of up to 18%.
As before, the Wildtrak is adorned with several exterior trimmings and coloured features that sets it apart from the rest of the range.
