New Kia Sorento: fresh fourth-generation model’s cabin uncovered…

Kia has published a fresh batch of teasers for its new Sorento, giving us our best look yet at the fourth-generation model’s cabin.

The new Sorento is expected to make its debut at the 2020 Geneva International Motor Show in early March, built on the firm’s box-fresh midsize SUV platform.

The automaker posted the latest images on its Korean division’s Facebook page. Judging by these sketches, the new Sorento’s cabin will be dominated by a dual-screen arrangement seemingly similar in configuration to Mercedes-Benz’s widescreen cockpit offering.

From the looks of things, the infotainment system will include a physical volume dial (hooray!), with the climate controls sited below (and flanked by vertically arranged vents).

The new Sorento will also ditch the traditional gearlever in favour of a dial, as employed by certain Jaguar Land Rover products. Similarly, a small rotary (just below the gear selector) will be used to toggle through the various driving modes.

The post on Kia Motors Korea’s Facebook furthermore includes another look at the exterior styling of the Sorento, confirming the new model (which, of course, has already been spotted undisguised) will move away from its predecessor’s soft lines for a more distinctive appearance, complete with a complex grille design and chunky, vertically arranged taillamps.

Last we heard from Kia Motors South Africa, the new Sorento is expected to debut locally in the final quarter of 2020…
