New Mercedes-Benz GLB: first glimpse of concept’s cabin

By: CAR magazine

Mercedes-Benz has released a teaser image of the cabin of its upcoming Concept GLB, a show car that will preview the production version of the fresh nameplate.

The concept is set to be fully revealed at the upcoming Shanghai motor show, with the production version likely to follow before the end of 2019 (and sales in initial markets expected to commence in early 2020). As you can tell by its name, the new GLB will slot in neatly between the GLA and GLC.

Published on the Stuttgart-based firm’s social media channels, the teaser sketch suggests the new SUV will gain Benz’s widescreen cockpit arrangement (with the new MBUX system) – as used in other compact models in the stable, such as the A-Class – sited above three centrally positioned air vents.

The new GLB will also likely inherit its powertrain options from existing Mercedes-Benz’s compact models, with rumours suggesting a Mercedes-AMG GLB35 is also on the cards.
