Peugeot South Africa has released range pricing for its new 2008 ahead of the second-generation model’s local launch at the start of February 2021.
Revealed back in mid-2019, the 2008 now runs on the PSA Group’s latest Common Modular Platform, with the vehicle measuring 4 300 mm long, (up a whopping 140 mm on the original), 1 770 mm wide and 1 530 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2 650 mm.
While Peugeot SA has opted not to release detailed specifications just yet, we do know 2008 will be available locally with a turbocharged 1,2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine offered in two outputs.
The four-strong – exclusively front-driven – line-up kicks off with the 2008 Active 1,2T (R359 900), which offers 74 kW and features a six-speed manual gearbox.
The three remaining variants each feature the higher-output 96 kW version of the engine, along with a six-speed automatic transmission. The 2008 Active 1,2T is priced at R399 900, while upgrading to the Allure trim level takes the figure to R429 900. The 2008 GT 1,2T, meanwhile, tops the range at R479 900.
A sunroof will be offered as an option for an extra R21 750, while a three-year/60 000 km service plan will ship standard.
