Details of the new Renault Mégane hatchback have leaked on the Internet, and it basically reveals all the technical details of the new model range.
As the pictures illustrate, the new model receives a thorough makeover front to rear. Some of the design elements first implemented on the current Clio has been improved and incorporated into the design of the larger hatchback.
As has been the case with most Renaults in the recent past, the interior doesn’t feature an abundance of buttons. However, with the implementation of the a new portrait-shaped infotainment screen, the interior’s design is even cleaner than before.
Judging by the leaked specification sheet, three turbopetrol and four turbodiesel engines will be offered in the range.
Power delivery for the 1,2-litre petrol engine starts at 74 kW/175 N.m and ends with the 1,6-litre engine developing 151 kW/280 N.m.
The turbodiesel range kicks off with the 1,5-litre (66 kW/220 N.m) and ends with the 1,6-litre engine (118 kW/380 N.m).
Expect the introduction of the range in South Africa towards the second or third quarter of 2016. Closer to the time details of which models will be introduced locally will be made available.
