Volkswagen South Africa has released pricing for the flagship T-Cross 1,5 TSI R-Line variant, which is scheduled to hit local roads in March 2020.
At launch this week, the local T-Cross line-up includes two variants: the 1,0 TSI Comfortline DSG (for R334 500) and the 1,0 TSI Highline DSG (for R365 000). Both employ a turbocharged 1,0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine sending 85 kW and 200 N.m to the front axle via a seven-speed dual clutch transmission.
The T-Cross 1,0 TSI derivative with 70 kW, a five-speed manual gearbox and the entry-level Trendline specification is expected to arrive in South Africa in the second quarter of 2020, with a price tag “under R300 000”.
So, what about that flagship model? Well, the T-Cross 1,5 TSI R-Line DSG offers 110 kW and will be priced at R403 500 when it arrives in SA in March. As with other models in the line-up, the range-topper comes with a three-year/120 000 km warranty and a three-year/45 000 km service plan (with intervals of 15 000 km).
