Now that we have officially seen the new design of the upcoming next-generation Ranger, some digital artists have put together a rendition of what the next-generation Ford Everest could look like. The digital impression not only adds the new face to the SUV body but also displays key cues that could be applied exclusively to the more practical off-roader.
As penneed by SRK Design, the Ford Everest render sports the C-shaped headlamps of the Ranger but the biggest difference between the SUV and the bakkie is the chrome grille and detailing that surrounds it. This is accentuated by a slightly different lower air intake, foglamp housing and anti-scuff plate.
The rest of the SUV boasts the same design cues as the Ford Ranger that sits on dealership floors today with a conventional bodystyle accentuated by satin silver roof rails and door mirror covers. Alloy wheels, plastic wheel arch cladding and a runner board are included as well.
A report out of Australia claimed that the next-generation Ford Everest range will include an off-road-focused, V6-powered Wildtrak X variant. The report says the next Everest will again share its engine range with the aforementioned Ranger, which the publication claims will include the existing 157 kW/500 N.m bi-turbo 2,0-litre diesel unit; a 270 kW/680 N.m plug-in hybrid powertrain built around Ford’s turbocharged 2,3-litre, four-cylinder petrol unit; and a 3,0-litre V6 turbodiesel generating 186 kW and 600 N.m.
