German tuner Novitec Rosso has turned its attention to the Ferrari 488 GTB, adding swathes of carbon and, of course, more power. Much more power.
In standard form, the 488 GTB’s 3,9-litre biturbo V8 makes 492 kW and 760 N.m. Not exactly short on oomph, then. Novitec, though, seemingly disagrees.
After the upgrades from the Ferrari specialist tuner, the engine churns out a massive 568 kW and 892 N.m, which results in a claimed 2,8-second sprint from standstill to 100 km/h (an improvement of two-tenths) and a top speed of 342 km/h.
Interestingly, the engine tuning can be activated and deactivated using a dial on the steering wheel. Novitec Rosso has also added the option of a high-performance exhaust system (listen to the result in the video at the bottom of this page).
So, what about those carbon additions? Well, there’s a front spoiler lip and side flaps mounted to the bumper to reduce lift at high speeds, while an additional surround for the central air intake has also been added.
The carbon theme continues with various detailing, including air deflection components in the side air intakes. A large rear airfoil, optionally available with a naked carbon finish, dominates the rear end, while a diffuser attachment for the rear bumper is also available.
Novitec has also added new lighting elements, including black indicators and reflectors, as well as a black-tinted third LED brake light. Naturally, in-house-designed alloy wheels are also part of the package.
Further updates include a hydraulic suspension system that lowers the ride-height by about 35 mm (and raises the front by 40 mm at the touch of a button, for those pesky speed bumps).
