Most enthusiasts can probably not wait for the arrival of Opel’s Corsa OPC, but for now GMSA has introduced the new Corsa Sport.
The five-door hatch comes equipped with a 1,4-litre, turbocharged petrol engine developing 110 kW at 5 000 r/min and 220 N.m at 3 000 r/min.
Opel claims a sprint from standstill to 100 km/h in 9,6 seconds, a top speed of 204 km/h, and an average fuel consumption figure of 5,9 litres per 100 km.
To enhance the exterior design, the Sport comes with an OPC Line kit. This includes new front and rear bumpers, a sporty exhaust tip, while the side mirrors are also trimmed with pseudo carbon-fibre covers.
The OPC influence continues inside. These include a leather-covered flat bottom steering wheel, alloy sports pedals, leather gearshift knob and an OPC handbrake lever.
In terms of safety the Sport is equipped with electronic stability control (ESC), traction control (TC), straight line stability (SLS) and a brake assist sytem (BAS). Passive safety includes six airbags.
