As a stable known for top-tier performance delivered in a luxurious package, Porsche is constantly reworking cars to bring out their best. From the 911 to the Cayenne, the Stuttgart-based automaker is always innovating and delivering spectacular vehicles.
Porsche has seen great success with its Taycan models, which saw more sales in 2021 than their esteemed 911 models. The warm reception to the firm’s electric sedan platform will spark a desire to keep that ball rolling. That said, we have come across some spy shots of a few Porsche Panamera test mules with a considerable number of changes compared to the current model.
Based on what we’ve seen in the spy shots, it seems as though we might receive an entire new-generation refresh. From the front fenders to the rear hatch and even the fuel cap, it appears that so much has been changed in this new generation as spotted on a new Panamera test mule. The interior changes correlate with this idea. The aim could be to emulate the success of the Taycan, which could see some of the design elements carried over from the Taycan to the Panamera.
Porsche offers a wide array of Panamera models ranging from petrol-powered platforms to plug-in hybrids. There hasn’t been any confirmation of the powertrain variants, however, an electric variant will likely make its return with a plug-in hybrid variant. Reports and rumors suggest that the Panamera will get a beefier petrol engine with hints of hybrid tech sprinkled into it. The Panamera’s electric range will reportedly be increased, along with the size of its batteries.
There hasn’t been any concrete timeline even for the release of the next Panamera, but information may be drip-fed as the year goes on. It’s possible that we could see the next Panamera unveiled sometime next year.
