Wearing the Gazoo Racing badge means that the latest Hilux GR-S has some big shoes to fill in the niche performance bakkie market. Here is pricing to pay on the tuned bakkie for South Africa.
The Hilux remains our undisputed best-selling vehicle. Serving businesses, farmers and families alike, but what if Toyota could tap into a market for a retuned bakkie that offers more driver engagement? Enter the Hilux GR-S; the latest production model to wear the fabled Gazoo Racing nomenclature. Starting life out as a 2,8 GD-6 Hilux, the original 150 kW and 500 N.m has been uprated to 165 kW and 550 N.m which should give the bakkie more power to boot. The model is very similar to the Legend-grade specification, but the standard spec still includes a wide range of features (with the exception of an auto-dimming rear-view mirror and JBL audio). The panoramic view monitor is a new addition too.
