Pricing! New Peugeot Partner van hits SA (boasting one-tonne payload)

By: CAR magazine

The new Peugeot Partner has launched in South Africa, with the local range comprising just a single long-wheelbase variant boasting a one-tonne payload and plenty of standard kit.

Priced at R389 900, the new Partner will take on the likes of Volkswagen’s Caddy panel van and Opel’s Combo Cargo.

The 1,6-litre HDI-badged turbodiesel engine generates 68 kW and 230 N.m, directed to the front axle via a five-speed manual gearbox. Running on a version of the PSA Group’s EMP2 platform, the 4 753 mm long Partner has a payload of 1 000 kg.

The loading area features six anchoring rings, 12 V socket, LED lighting and access via dual sliding side doors. The Partner employs a two-seater bench up front.

Standard features include a “head-up style display”, an eight-inch capacitive touchscreen (with Bluetooth Mirror Link, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), air conditioning, six airbags, ABS with EBD, electric (front) windows, cruise control (with a speed limiter), rear parking sensors and automatic headlamps.

The price includes a five-year/100 000 km warranty and a service plan of the same duration.
