Performance Centre South Africa has been officially appointed as the local distributor of Vaughn Gittin’s RTR upgrades.

The partnership kicks off the introduction of a new RTR Vehicles Series 1 Mustang, which was co-developed by RTR and Ford Performance and is offered for both the 2,3-litre, four-cylinder and 5,0-litre V8 models.

The package includes Ford Performance suspension (with adjustable sway bars), a Track Handling Pack (lowering the car by 25 mm), a staggered wheel/tyre combination (with 19 x 9,5-inch front and 19 x 10-inch rear items), bonnet struts and an aluminium strut tower brace.

Other additions include a fresh grille (with LEDs), a front splitter, a Gurney flap, RTR fender badges, a rear diffuser, a windscreen banner, special floor mats, puddle lamps, sill plates and a serialised facia plaque (along with a certificate of authenticity).

There’s also an optional Ford Performance supercharger (with an uprated intake manifold), available exclusively for the 5,0 V8, taking the standard outputs of 331 kW and 529 N.m to 529 kW and 820 N.m.

So, how much are you looking at here? Well, the basic conversion will cost you R280 000 (including VAT and fitment), regardless of the engine derivative. Add the supercharger kit and the price increases to R565 000.

“I’m excited to announce the we have partnered with Performance Centre in South Africa, to be our exclusive RTR vehicles distributor in the country. This means that all of our turn-key Mustangs, as well as all of our aftermarket parts can now be purchased through the crew at the Performance Centre,” said Gittin Jr.

Grant Askham, CEO of Performance Centre South Africa, said the package “focuses on precise street performance, intense agility on the track as well as a driver-centric experience that makes it a powerhouse to drive.”

“It is sure to become a favourite among Mustang enthusiasts in South Africa,” Askham added.
