The Range Rover Velar Auric Edition has been confirmed for a local introduction into South Africa. The new derivative is available with three different engines and boasts a number of unique design details and equipment
Where design is concerned, the Range Rover Velar Auric Edition adopts a set of Gloss Sparkle Silver 20-inch alloys and exclusive Auric Atlas exterior finishes on the grille, badges, bonnet, door and front fender vents. Customers can choose from three exterior colours; Charente Grey, which is reserved exclusively for the Auric Edition, Ostuni Pearl White and Santorini Black. 22-inch Pincer wheels and a contrast roof also available to those who want to enhance the presence of the luxury SUV.
The Range Rover Velar Auric Edition can be had with a choice of two diesel or one petrol engine . The D200 (R1 399 700) employs a turbodiesel 2,0-litre four-cylinder that delivers 150 kW and 600 N.m of torque while the D300 (R1553 900) a larger 3,0-litre straight-six that delivers 221 kW and 650 N.m. The turbopetrol P250 (R1 399 700) option sports a 2,0-litre four-cylinder unit that offers 184 kW and 365 N.m. All models employ the brand’s all-wheel drive system with an eight-speed torque converter. CO2 tax has been omitted from these prices.
The new Range Rover Velar Auric Edition also benefits from a full suite of advanced technologies, including the brand’s configurable Interactive Driver Display. This complements the intuitive Pivi Pro infotainment system, reducing distractions by displaying a range of vehicle and navigation information to the driver.
Options available to the entire range now include the PM2,5 filter that automatically manages CO2 levels while a new Purify Cycle feature allows users to schedule a cleaning cycle, before doors are even opened. Adaptive cruise control with steering assist and rear camera join the comprehensive suite of Driver Assistance Features on the Range Rover Velar for enhanced safety.
The updated Range Rover Velar and the new Auric Edition will be available in South Africa early next year.
