As if the new 2016 Mustang didn’t have enough presence, this special edition is all-but guaranteed to be a head-turner.
Car rental company Hertz has collaborated with Ford Motor Company and Shelby American to build a Mustang exclusively for tourists with a need for speed.
Aiming to offer its customers something special and exclusive, this throwback GT-H model harks back to the GT350-H, “rent-a-racer” program from the 1960’s.
The new GT-H will only be available through the Hertz Adrenaline Collection at selected airports throughout the United States and won’t be for sale to the public.
The GT-H features the 5,0-litre V8 from the standard Mustang but fitted with a cat back performance exhaust to grant the car a more throaty soundtrack compared with the original. Ford’s racing handling pack adds a more nimble ride for extra measure.
In terms of styling, the GT-H has a few tweaks and commemorative styling points added, including a carbonfibre front splitter, a Shelby-designed vented hood, revised side skirts and a new rear spoiler. The GT-H only comes in black with gold detailing, and bespoke (Hertz Edition emblem) badging.
Limited to around 140 units, the new GT-H looks set to be in hot demand.
