Jaguar has officially revealed its F-Pace in full production guise. Jaguar has to be applauded for staying close to the C-X17 Concept it showed us a few years ago. More recently, Jaguar has released images of its newest car undergoing hot and cold weather testing.
As with Jaguar’s recent cars, the F-Pace is built on an aluminium architecture which they claim will allow the F-Pace to weigh in at 1 665 kg, almost 600 kg lighter than the BMW X5.
With the F-Pace, Jaguar will offer an SUV that will have a serious focus on “ride and handling”, although the company claims it would still offer a high level of comfort in terms of ride quality.
The F-Pace is said to receive a layout inspired by the F-Type’s double wishbone suspension and integral link rear suspension adapted for its tall platform. Handling is also enhanced thanks to torque vectoring and electric power assisted steering system as standard. Enthusiasts will also have the option of the Configurable Dynamics seen in the F-Type
The F-Pace engine range will feature the 132 kW 2,0-litre diesel manual with rear-wheel or all-wheel drive and automatic all-wheel drive, 177 kW 2,0-litre petrol automatic with rear-wheel drive, 221 kW 3,0-litre diesel automatic with all-wheel drive and 250 kW and 279 kW 3,0-litre petrol automatic with all-wheel drive and will be manufactured at the Jaguar Land Rover plan in Solihull in England along side the XE saloon.
To celebrate its release Jaguar will be launching a ‘First Edition’ model of which only 2 000 will be made. The limited version will feature the high-end supercharged V6 in both petrol or diesel and receive an exclusive Caesium Blue or Halcyon Gold paint job that best represents the CX-17 concept on which the F-Pace is based.
Local pricing has not yet been announced.
