Following the leaked image a few weeks ago, Mitsubishi has now officially unveiled the new Pajero Sport.
Mitsubishi’s new Pajero Sport offers very different design compared to the outgoing model. The front features a sharper design with a significant amount of chrome lining, as well as LED daytime running lights.
Step inside the Pajero Sport, and it is evident this SUV borrows a lot from the upcoming Triton bakkie on which it is based. The driver’s surroundings are actually uncluttered with a single infotainment screen while the air-conditioning controls are situated below this screen. There are also more satellite controls on the steering wheel than the outgoing model.
One of the drivetrain options will include a 2,4-litre, turbodiesel engine which will be connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Mitsubishi hasn’t revealed the power figures for the Pajero Sport, but we know the power figures for the Triton, so expect to see a similar line-up:
- 2,4-litre petrol with 94 kW/194 N.m
• 2,4-litre turbodiesel with 133 kW/430 N.m
• 2,5-litre turbodiesel with 94 kW/240 N.m
• 2,5-litre turbodiesel with 131 kW/400 N.m
Expect to see the local introduction of the Pajero Sport early next year.
